I was just sitting down to put the finishing touches on my first batch of rippers, and it occured to me that I don't know how to represent the acid blood coursing through the veins of one of the swarms. The only example in the codex is a gaunt drooling, which seems to me to only represent acid blood in so much as it reminds people of the dripping, jelly-smeared maw in Alien. About all I can think of is putting a dead one on the base with the terrain around it dissolving, but that doesn't sound like such a menacing conversion. So, any suggestions?
thank you and good night
well in the codex its not him drooling, the gaunt's body is seeping the acid. i REALLY like the idea yu have. it would look awesome if pulled off rite and would def, represent acid blood appropriatly.
<insert witty remark here>
your idea sound cool but perhaps try this one, Gaunt onn it base with a SM lying beneath it and the SM armour is beeing eaten away while the blood simply oozes from the Mutant
Hmm...i suppose you could model upraised veins on the model using green stuff or something, and then paint them a contrasting colour, or you could have say a wounded nid on a slightly larger base to accomadate a small model, say a grot, being fried by the acid blood spraying out...its kinda awkward though.
Heres a tip if you want to model it interestingly- if you heat a piece of flying base pole, until it starts dripping, and then take the flame off of it, it dries pretty quick. Then glue it to a wound on the model and paint it red, and it looks like the model has just been shot and blood is spraying out.
The only difference between tattooed people and non-tattooed people is that tattooed people are awesome and can kick your ass.

Just paint the veins green(if theres any veins on the model).If not, create(Green lines)!
