    warbikes

So I got bored the other day and picked up a box of boyz just to play around with converting them when I realized i can turn a single box of boyz into an entire warbike squad with a little cutting and some beer caps and plasticard.
Naturally this lead to the thought that...ehy i could conceivably make a 1500 point list for like 60 bucks.
Now my question is how well would an entire warbike army preform? Id have 35 warbikes led by Wazdakka. (I'm building the army regardless but I am curious)
    Thanks in advance.

    Hmm...

I'd be interested to know how those look.

An all bike army is certainly viable, but they'd be even better with more anti-armor shooting (lootas, big gunz kannons, and/or rokkit buggies) and at least one unit of grots along with (for sitting on objectives). Still, if all bike's what you want, this is how I'd do it:

    HQ

    Wazzdakka [180]

    TROOP

5 Warbikes w/nob, powerklaw, bosspole [165] (attach wazzdakka)

    5 Warbikes w/nob, powerklaw, bosspole [165]

    5 Warbikes w/nob, powerklaw, bosspole [165]

    5 Warbikes w/nob, powerklaw, bosspole [165]

    5 Warbikes w/nob, powerklaw, bosspole [165]

    5 Warbikes w/nob, powerklaw, bosspole [165]

    FAST

    5 Warbikes w/nob, powerklaw, bosspole [165]

    5 Warbikes w/nob, powerklaw, bosspole [165]

I never use bikes in groups larger than 5-6, or else they're too tempting of a target, and more vulnerable to ordnance.

This list is short on objective grabbing troops, long range shooting, anti-armor shooting, template attacks, and other things, but I have to admit, it'd be a lot of fun. Good luck if you try it!

I was thinking of doing a bike list along these lines-

    HQ

    Wazzdakka [180]

    TROOP

    8 Warbikes w/nob, powerklaw, bosspole [240]

    8 Warbikes w/nob, powerklaw, bosspole [240]

    8 Warbikes w/nob, powerklaw, bosspole [240]

    8 Warbikes w/nob, powerklaw, bosspole [240]

    Fast Attack

    3 rokkit buggies w/ RPJ [120]

    3 rokkit buggies w/ RPJ [120]

    3 rokkit buggies w/ RPJ [120]

    Total 1500

Show us pics of those bikes when they are done
    Lets go massacre something

It would be a one-trick pony. Warbike armies have been done, but they are really just off the wall stunts. If you want people to go 'wow' when you fill the table with bikes, then do it.

But be careful..if you're conversions look like crap, they may not say 'wow'....

I don't know if it would fight worth a damn. Warbikes are weak, in my opinion. But who cares? You wouldn't be building it because it's a winner!

Winning isn't necessarily the biggest deal for the thing I just was looking for something cheap to build for when im at college. As for how they look, the first ones like half done and looks decent enough I need to come up with a way to make a seat and handle bars for the rest of them...I don't have a picture of it but it turned out being roughly an inch or so longer than the normal warbike so I have to make some new bases for them. ...Starting on the token unicyclist tonight
