I was wondering ... as I haven't done this before ... what are the chances of a S8 weapon doing damage to a tank's front armor of 13?
Okay, let's assume we already have markerlight tokens on the predator (or whatever it is), so we don't factor in the BS of the markerlight firer.
The seeker missile has a 5 in 6 chance of hitting. It then has a 1 in 6 chance of penetrating, and a 1 in 6 chance of glancing. So to answer your question, it will do damage 27.77% of the time.
One thing to consider is that this only represents the chances of glancing or penetrating, meaning some form of damage will be done. The chance of actually destroying the vehicle after glancing or penetrating is 1 in 6 (1 in 3 if the vehicle is open-topped). That means the probability of a single seeker missile hitting, penetrating, and destroying a predator with front armour facing is roughly 4.6%. If the vehicle has cover, this figure is halved again and goes down to 2.3%.
In short, railguns will do the job FAR better.
