I was just wondering how MTC works when assaulting, let me hit you with some quotes.
page 75: Units with this rule roll an extra D6 when rolling to move through difficult terrain. In MOST circumstances this will mean that they roll three D6 and pick the dice with the highest score.
Beasts assault rules,
page 54:If assaulting through cover, beasts and cavalry are slowed by difficult terrain - roll for the distance they can move just as you would for infantry, but double the result of the highest scoring dice.
Does that mean you should roll 2 D6, pick the highest and double that? Since it says to pick the 'highest scoring dice' if it was only 1 there would be no need for that sentence.
Assaulting through cover rules,
page 36: If..any model in an assaulting unit will have to go through difficult or dangerous terrain as part of its assault move, the unit must take the relevant terrain test before moving.
Would that be 2d6 pick the highest when you have MTC?
And if you say "that's only for a regular move, not assault move."
page 34: All of the models in an assaulting unit make their assault move following the same rules as in the Movement phase..
So, anyone with insight that can clear this up for me, or is this another one of those rules where you have to assume it only applies in the movement phase?
Essentially for nearly all difficult terrain in the game you normally roll 2d6 and pick the highest. If you have MTC then you get an extra D6, which makes it 3d6 and you pick the highest. You get this whenever you move through difficult terrain, whether it be due to moving, assaulting (including assaulting as a beast), or even slow and purposeful.
So a ravenor, for example, would roll 3d6 and pick the highest and then multiply that by 2 to see how far it could charge through difficult terraint (as its a beast).

That's abit strange, can't seem to find where beasts are allowed 2D6 when assaulting through terrain, or are you counting the 'fleet' diceroll aswell?
Tomb Scorpion Kill Counter: Gotrek Gurnisson, Empire Cannon Crew=3, Blood Knights=2, Saurus Cavalry=5, Saurus Warriors=3, Razordons=3, Skink warriors=7, Jezzails=8, Poison Wind Globadiers=10, Warp Lightning Cannon=1
Well that ain't half bad. Same goes for Hormagaunts then.
I think that answers my question, thanks.
