I have a Vyper and I hate the rider on the back because it doesn't look very sleek.
Does anyone have any images or links to ideas on Vypers without the rider on the back? I know this is very specific, so I hope I can find something. I checked CMoN and several logs and it seems that people avoid Vypers because they're sub-par in the game.
They're AV10. They're more expensive than War walkers (which can pack far more punch for far less), and they're open topped.
What do they have going for them? Speed, but that's about it. BS 3 is brutal for them. If they had BS4, they'd be worthwhile. I've got 3 Vypers, and I honestly almost never run them. Walkers fit the same role that Vypers do, even though Vypers are fast skimmers, but walkers have scout and can outflank. WW's have won me more fights than I can remember. Vypers have never won me a fight. Maybe I'm not running enough, or doing something wrong, but...eh...
Yeah here's one:
--note, this is googled, I had no part in this model or website at all.
It's a Harlequin Venom, a remnant of the 2nd edition Harlequin codex. Come to think of it, I had planned to make a fleet of Venoms, only to find the codex so looked down upon and then started the hip new Dark Eldar.
One misjudged move after the other
Anyway, hope this helped.
If I was about 200 times less lazy, I'd model a vyper in 3d and show you the idea I had for them. Honestly, my bet is next codex, they lose their open top rule like War Walkers did. That, or they'll get Scout (or both)
