I have been reading some posts about striking scops using the infiltrate rule to get a first turn charge? Is this correct? I always thought the set up rules were designed so that you have to be at least 12" away from your enemy thus stopping the first turn charge or if you were 24" away that you could not shoot a 24" gun at a target first turn unless one of you have moved?
The only eldar that can get a first turn charge is Karandras, if he infiltrates to 12", runs and assaults (unlike his scorpion brethren, being a Phoenix Prince he has the fleet of foot rule).
Otherwise, there is no way of first-turn charging barred cheating!
If you really want to get first-turn chargers, go and see the old Kroot Mercenary Army list! I used to have some 60 models in HtH on the first turn!

Well, I suppose if you opponent was not the brightest (or had a lot of faith in his troops) then he could move into assault range and you could get a first turn charge with them... otherwise I think you're out of luck.
Cool idea though, I would love to have a squad that could do that.

Hmm... I might be wrong about his, but technically, you could infiltrate to EXACTLY 12" and hope for a 6 to pass the terrain in front of you... Couldnt you?

I think the rule states 'cannot deploy within 12" of an enemy.' therefore you wouldn't get to contact an opponent. A similar thing happens with the scout move. Eldar scouts get infiltrate and fleet but they are hardly the unit to use for first turn charges.
Warp spiders can get a first turn charge in dawn of war missions as you can deploy within 18" of the enemy.... but then again they are not troop or HQ choices so scrap that idea.
I think the best first turn charge army has to be spacemarines with shrike, 10 assault marines, some scout bikes and 60 scouts. They can all get a first turn charge as long as the enemy doesn't put his entire force in reserve.

Quorn! - Protein for the Protein God.
Eversor assassin can get a 12" infiltrate in, than move 6", charge 12", bam, something just died..
Units can't assault the turn they disembark if the vehicle has already moved.

You could set up war walkes, scout move, move, then assault.
....hey! I never said it was a brilliant idea!
