ok so had a 750 point game with no foc just for fun today but what was the weird thing is a brood lord and 11 genestealers manged to kill 5 terminators and wounded a captain with dread armour which is wierd any thoughts?
This is what they were designed to do, ever since tearing up Termies in space hulks. However, they are no where near as good as they used to be, mainly thanks to 5th Ed banning consolidation into enemy models. Just weather the storm then shoot them.

In a small points game Genestealers can really show the drawback of a player concentrating a large amount of their points into a small number of expensive units, because taking out units with awesome armor saves is their biggest strength. As adhesivespatula said, just shoot them up. They don't have very good armor saves of their own, so if you kill them before they get to CC you don't have to worry about them pulling termies out of their shells.
in all honesty if 11 genestealers and a Broodlord ONLY killed 5 termies and wounded a captain, then either
1) your opponent wasnt using them at their best
2) you got very lucky!
as said previously just shoot them, also if they have a broodlord, dont send Indipendant characters to fight it, ive had one kill the toughest characters out there. on the upside, a broodlord removes the fleet ability, so they are slightly slower.
Your friendly neighbourhood gargantuan creature
there was only 5 termies and the capt in the assualt then thet got gunned down by 10 rapid firing bolters
yeah its best if u stay away from genestealers there one of best units in the tyranid codex
Genies also got hosed with the nerfing of rending from 4th to 5th edition. They used to be much more deadly.
also always give your broodlord feeder tendrils it doesnt matter where its is on its body but it lets you re-roll to hit
btw looks like someone had the same idea as me and typed "lictor" into google images... so much for my originality
