Hey guys just a quick thread, i was wondering if i was going to make a genestealer army, and buy space hulk, is it possible to give the tyranids that come in the set regular bases?Well reply soon.
all (or almost all) bases are larger than the regular bases. you can at least put ten tyranids on bases. Sorry I don't have time to check it for you
Most of them are standing on something, although a few are coming through the floor. You can cut the ones standing off the base and put them on a new one for 40k. You'd have to model it a bit but it'd look fine. Not a great use of money though.

most of them would also look kind of stupid. why are your genestealers ripping through the metal floor in the middle of the woods?
the broodlord would look sweet though.
It should be no problem. I recently got my game and plan to greenstuff my bases around the models' stands to get them to the same height.
The thought of an entire army bursting up/running down a spacee hulk themed base set seems like a great idea to me. As some of the models will be too big for the bases, I am planning to just cut/dremel those down to the right size.
This could be the start of a very nice looking army.
On a side note, wish me luck. I've got a 1K vs. orks today. Full battle report up after.
Great, I am looking foward (both the army and the battle report)
What are you going to do with the marines that come in the box?

I've managed just fine on 16 of them. Some of the bases need extensive clipping and conversion work but well worth it imo. I'm going to hack off the super large bases and use them for city of death terrain / barricades. Shame, they look good and all but not very practical. I very much wanted to use the cool models for both games!
I was able to trim all but two of the genestealers's bases down so that they could fit on the bases. It didn't take much work and the models look fine.
I bought the game to play the game. The fact that i get twenty genestealers and 10 terminators was just a bonus. Really what i comes down to is do you want to go through the effort to do it.
The Space Marines were a much bigger challenge to get to not look like blood angels. Still haven't figured out how to get the Sargent to work.
