If i'm gonna consider getting a tyranid army it's got to be swarmy. Would spamming warriors and spinegaunts work out?
I'm not a fan of Spinegaunts, they don't accomplish much. Their only point is to have WoN and be cheap. Fleshborers are a better offensive weapon imo.
Warriors are good, Devourers and a Barbed Strangler is a popular tactic. Gives you a unit to stay back and give Synapse while shooting very nicely.

Hello, and welcome!
Yes, spinegaunts and Warriors are two of the more common troops in the Tyranids swarm army. Spinegaunts are very good at filling out numbers, so they are usually very common in swarmy armies. Warriors are underestimated. But they can fill out many roles (fast, synapse, shooty, CC). I would recommend them, but remember the main problems you will face is:
1. Lack of Synapse (this can be covored by lots of warriors)
2. Anti-tank (take some heavies)
I hope that helps.
So, a couple of zoanthropes as well?
yeah, I love zoanthropes. But if you want a swarmy, keep in mind that it has to be swarmy
With that you will have a good swarm army for 6 moths, then it comes a new codex and no one knows if there is going to be any weapon to make them more cheap... i will blue tac or put iridiums on weapons to have the option to change them.
