Real quick...not sure if this has been posted in the past, but Ive recently discovered a fun little game with my Avengers during a Seize Ground game.
A) Drop your Avengers out near an enemy squad who is getting too near your Objective. Yeah, 16-18" is good.
Park the Wave Serpent to provide some degree of cover for your squishys
C) Doom! Bladestorm!
D) Wait for your opponent to try and eat your Avengers. Most of the time they wont kill them all, if you've set up the cover right.
E)Put the remaining Avengers back into your transport and sit on that Objective the last couple turns.
This is only a 1 shot thing, but if done right can carry the game for you. You will generally have 5 or less Avengers by this point, but its still enough to hold that Objective till its over. In addition, its more or less guaranteed that you will turn a 10 man Space Marine squad into a little red smudge on the ground with your amazing *32 SHOTS* at BS 4, rerolling wounds...my usual end result is between 16 and 20 wounds.
I enjoy doing it on turn 3 or 4, as your opponent thinks he has seen all you have to offer by then and is picking trickier targets (like that damned pie plate Fire Prism).
It's our struggles that define us, And the hardships we endure,
Your spirit can't be broken now, You've come too far...
That's kind of how everyone uses DA's. If you use them non transported or without cover/in range of to many guns they get shredded like paper.

I prefer (usually, points allowing) rolling with guide and doom, potentially forgoing the bladestorm until i know i wont be able to shoot next turn... I'd rather put my money on 22 shots rerolling everything(avg of 3-5 dice that fail to wound) then 32 shots just rerolling to wound... combine the two and even terminators will fall!
LOL well I don't have any transports for my army as of yet. But my usual core army build consists of Ulthran, and 2 DA units. I roll him up with them, guide both units and doom the enemy unit infront of them. Without bladestorm not much survives that. I have taken a 30 ork unit down to one model. Who fled like a grot. HEHEHE
Age is a state of mind, and since I have no mind, I don't age.
