Welcome to Librarium Online!
So, playing IG in a 1000 point match - My Wierdboy did some pretty awesome carnage for me.
My opponent had the Regular Loadout of Veterans, Guardsman, Sentinel, Demolisher, and Basilisk. I had 30 'ard boys, 20 shootas, A Battle Wagon and a Truck with 5 Claw Nobs and a Wierdboy.
This match made me LOVE my Wierdboy. Like, Love him with a Passion.
First turn: Wierdboy passes Psychic, I roll a 5, Teleport to behind the opponent's basilisk - out of sight of his Lascannon and Plasma Cannon Demolisher - However obscured from his Sentinel. Boarding Planks and a Power Claw later and the Basilisk bites it.
Trukk is sent out of control and moves 12 inches towards the Demolisher - thankfully he was more focused on my 'Ard boys with his tank.
Second Turn: Wierdboy Passes, rolls a 3, Zzap Destroys the Demolisher. Oooh yeah.
Nobs are ripped apart by a huge torrent of Laser Pointers - However two survive along with the wierdboy.
Third turn I expected the Wierdboy to go out with a flash or nothing atall - but suprisingly he passed his Psychic AGAIN and rolled a 5 AGAIN - Teleported to the Sentinel and the Klaw finished it off.
They were both finished off by More Lasguns..
Later on I won the game 4 - 2. My Boys took out his platoon command squad however my Battlewagon and shootas were annihilated from Lasguns and Hellguns along with Kasarkin Melta guns.
I am hereby never taking a Warboss without a wierdboy first. They are just too cool.
Just thought I'd share my tale of awesome luck
It was my understanding from the FAQ when the Weirdboy teleports he takes the unit but leaves the Trukk. It sounds to me like you fudged the rules badly. : /
Yeah it specifically asks how a Weirdboys powers work in a transport of any kind and it says he takes the unit with him but leaves the transport. Since a transport is a separate unit in all other cases, that seems very correct to me.
Still in the context of what went down, cool. :] To many people don't know about FAQs, they can really bite you at tournaments or with more veteran opponents. I wish they'd print an FAQ book with all the FAQs in it, like the old Chapter Approved books.
I'm fond of people who field things that are random, I can't do it because it just doesn't mesh with my personality but they always make the game fun. I mean, Orks without randomness? That's just wrong.
But for my Wierdboy - I plan to give him 5 more nobs with Heavy Armor and no other Upgrades - just as a cannon-fodder to keep my Klaws Klawing. I only wonder though, how effective would a "Suprise! Klaws!" be against anything but Imperial Guard? Tyranids I know I will have Problems, Eldar I have no idea, and Space Marines I'm dead scared of.
I don't quite know what to tweak yet.

DS Klaws aren't amazing if they have the guns to hurt you, so it's actually bad against IG a lot of the time. More elite armies would fear it I'd think, but give them a Painboy also. Some Kombi-weapons would let them shoot when they DS, I'd think about Rokkits. One will probably hit and you'll most likely have back/side armor so wreck a tank than charge in next turn.
Not a very reliable unit but could potentially play havoc with your opponents back field.
