    Codex Rev: Tankbustas

    This is the next installment of my suggested codex revisions. The next unit is the non-competitive Tankbustas:

    • 5-15 tankbustas per unit
    • stay the same points cost
    • loses the Glory Hogs special rule
    • for every 5 tankbustas you can take 2 bomb-squigs
    • for every 5 tankbustas a tankbusta may replace their rokkit launcha with a tankhammer for +5 points
    • Tankhammer is now a two-handed S10 power weapon strikes at I1
    • For +3 points per model the tankbustas gain the tank hunter special rule
    as you can see from the previous Codex Rev post there is a theme that Phil Kelly introduced into the 4 th edition codex with the boyz, in that the more boyz you take the more upgrades you can take. I want the theme to extend to the rest of the mobs in the codex

    I feel the tankhammer may be too good at free if it's a str 10 power weapon.

    Maybe make it 10 points? Or add something to make it worse against infantry?

    Tankhammer being a S10 power weapon would make them too powerful. Maybe if they could be used only against vehicles and monstruos creatures...

    aah sarcasm.. where would wargaming be without it eh? (my guess is more pleasant....).

    I think the point is to make them useful, instead of useless - being useful WOULD make them more powerful as they can actually DO something instead of their current uselessness.

    Interesting revision, I am all for everything except the power weapon tank hammer. Have 9 S10 power weapon hits go at initiative is just to good imo. Perhaps allow them to take a dedicated transport and I am happy.

    I don't mind tank hammers allowing saves, it just doesn't make much sense

    Tankbustas should have either tank hunters or 2 shot rokkit launchaz, something to make them worthwhile.

    You could balance them well enough just by dropping Glory Hogs.
