Welcome to Librarium Online!
Yes, I've missed my little chompy buddies.
No, I just use my gaunts as a screen, killing is for big boys!
Maybe, it depends on what other buffs they'd get.
Right now our spiny little friends are not getting any attention from most of us, sadly it's because of their high maintenance but hopefully in the new dex this will change.
So, what i want to know is, if you're not using Horms atm, will you do so if the only buff they recieve would be a pt reduction from 10 to 6?
Sure I've also heard the rumors about scything talons giving 2 extra attacks instead of 1 but aside from that, if all you gain is 4 extra pts per model, would you use them? I'll tell you one thing... i totally would, a buttload of them.

Id take toxin sacs and then say shame they still have worse stats than wolves but I can have 32 in a squad and they are troops.
Still they wouldn't be godly on their own. If you mathhammered 30 hormas vs 30 boyz base then it would be fairly even. But the hormas still would lose.
I would be taking them for there charge range primarily, 20-25 is probably the most you should take in 1 squad, and then stealers could still match the damage output of 20-25 hormagaunts against tough models.
I'd the I adrenal glands to strike on par with those cursed eldar, then go to town eating their guardians and aspect warriors alive!
I once wiped a terminator squad in the first round of combat with 15 of them. I gave them +1 str and that was about it I believe, 45 str 4 attacks on the charge! Badass! But sadly I do not take them anymore because of their point cost, I think I replaced their value with a dakka fex and a few more genestealers...haven't looked back!
Still undefeated with my nids in almost 10 months over 20 games, why do we need a new book? Oh probably because they are getting nerfed...BAH!!
Largely due to the fact I have nothing else to fill the points, I'm still using my hormagaunts. I find them reasonably effective, but they always get wiped out. I'd definitely like them to be fewer points, 'cause I think having a massive army of them would be a total blast. Especially since I run tyranids as my combat army and having the frontline mook combat unit be so expensive is really killin me.
Consider this though, with the supposed cost og termigaunts, having that point drop in hormagaunts will free up points for a whole 'nother termi next to every hormagaunt!
So ineffective and expensive this edition, I really do miss them. I'd love to see them with a point reduction and WoN.
I hope they become fashionable again. Gribbly hordes is one of the best looking armies, 8 MCs is so boring to play and play against. My only hope is Gaunts or Hormagaunts WoN cannot hold objectives, sorry that's far to good.

I don't see why I wouldn't use them then if I do use them now. They work spectacularly for me, and I've never really understood why everyone on the net doesn't like them. Ah well, it would be really nice if they get even better.
The advantage over stealers is the extra bit of charge range.
The disadvantage is worse WS S SV T I the need for synapse, the low Ld if your not in synapse and the fearless wounds if you are in synapse.
They are at the moment more expensive than things that are better in other armies.
The way I want to run them (TS, FH, Ad gland I) at the moment means a unit of 12 is 168 points currently a unit of 12 stealers with flesh hooks is 204.
So for me its 15 hormagaunts vs 10 stealers (I add scuttlers usually)
The main problem I have is justifying their cost vs fenrisian wolves and stealers.
Now they are worse aganst marines than stealers for slighgly more points. If they were reduced in points they'd virtually as good for the same points
Reduced points would be cool but I hope that we'll still be able to upgrade them, I like them enhanced and if we can do that affordably I'd be happy
