I posted a bit ago about a new DE army ive started. This is my first warhammer army in 8 years, since I quit it when I was 17! So its all new again to me. My force is taking shape, its at 1500 points now, and I won my first battle fairly convincingly, so not too bad.
Anyway, ive jsut started painting them, ive based the design of my kabal (think thats what you call DE forces isnt it?) on the covenant from Halo. Not very original I know, but I love the purple and blue colours mixed with metalics.
First model ive done is the Talos. I dont knwo why i started with such a complex model, but it was fun! Anyway, what do you think? It was hard remembering all my old tricks! I think the rest of my force is going to look ace in this scheme too, looking forward to getting more done!
I like the color scheme, I want to see the complete army when it is painted. The colors do work together nicely and you are now making me wish I had my army with me. Have you named your Kabal yet?
NEW DARK ELDAR! Hold all armies I have a new purpose in life!
Not thought of a name yet, like I said, this is my first time playing in a long time, and first ever DE force. I'll think of something though, especially since one of the guys I play against is well into the story aspect of the games.
Congrats on some great models, they look awesome! Would you mind sharing a bit about what you did and what colors you used? I think I'd like to model my own Talos color scheme something like yours.
Looks very good for a first mini for a while, I love thye scheme as the colours seem to really gel together. The metal looks a little shiny, the guns on the talos especially would probably benefit from a wash.

The main purple is Liche Purple, Blue parts on weapons/pipes, etc is Hawk Turquoise.
I generally undercoat in black, basecoat in the purple and add chainmail paint to all of the metalic parts. I then libberally put black wash into all the gaps, and completely over the chainmail. This gives the dulled effect on the metal. I find I have to use a lot due to the purple been dark so the gaps are shaded nicely.
I build up highlights in 3/4 layers, adding a bit of white to some liche purple and build it up, then pick out odd bits with an almost pink mix.
The blood on the talos blades is just blood red dry brushed on, then black wash dashed over it. Then pick out the highlights on metal with undiluted chainmail paint.
Hope that helps
looks good! Funny how many of us go down the purple route... what is the DE purple connection? keep posting them up!
Thje talos is very clean, very well painted, only remark I could have on it: it's a little bit too simple. If you consider how clean you paint I would expect a more complicated color sheme.
Incubi...yes we can see the shading, I have more trouble seeing the highlights, but I can see a few , but I know it's just the bad quality, I'm sure the incubi is very well painted like the talos.
It may be a personal opinion or not, shared by many other players who done the same thing: punishers look best in full gold, espeically when you color sheme involves liche purple (I also use pruple for my army, but my incubi are a lot darker and have various freehand details.
