Has anyone heard of a more CC oriented list combining a not too large Seer Council on bikes with other units without going heavily into mech?
I've been considering the whole Wraithguard troop option with Wraithlords, but they are extremely pricey (points wise - I have the models) and I'm wondering whether the Seer Council choice might be a bit funner to convert and a bit more interesting (cough: powerful)!
Anyone have an opinions on how this might work? Probably in conjunction with WraithLords and maybe Harlequins? (gaining some really hardy monstrous creatures for scaring people with some pretty deadly CC)
Or is it pretty much a situation where you need mech to keep your other units close to the council on bikes?
I'm not looking for an extreme list, but I want it to be viable for friendly games, and I have to admit converting jetbikes has always been an interesting concept! I also don't like the fragility that eldar often means (as you can see from me trying to chose between WG and a Council)
You might be able to work a hybrid list using the council and one or two fast units as your mobile wing, then build up a firebase using the lords and a few other units. The problem with your idea is that our other melee units are simply not fast enough to keep up with a council without a transport. You could have some fast shooting elements ( warpspiders come to mind ) and use the council as a cc clean up unit perhaps. Harlies could grab a ride from one of the fire base units, or stay near the fire base and work as a counter charge unit.
my GFs eldar army ran a small seer council in a wave serpent for a while
they didn't do so hot because i got the charge with a unit of seekers of slaanesh but she kept it behind cover and it got where it needed to go
they're not bad to disrupt your enemy if your main force is to their left and a seer council in a serpent is coming in on their right. the council can be too dangerous to ignore but they also can't ignore your main force.
if you use them as a disposable unit to throw off your opponent a cheap seer council can work crashing into an enemies flank but, it will die a horrible death and give up 3 kill points in the process hopfully taking something scary with it like some terminators
in which case you might be better off with banshees
and in that case why are you suiciding any unit
they're definitely cooler and more fun to play with but unfortunately they're not tactially sound
I guess you could do Seer Council with Wraithlords and lots of Guardians. Not meched, good CC and some shooting.
Not the best list but playable.

Here are some viable options:
Farseer and warlocks in a wave serpeant
Storm guardians in wave serpeant
deep striking Warp spiders
10wrathguard with spirit seer
3 wrath lords
Farseer with fortune
Maybe defenders with HWP and warlock
Not a bad hybrid list I suppose. has a good mech mobile wing and a good base.
Farseer and warlock jetbike council
guardians and spirit seers
Eldar -APOC- 6500 Points
Chaos Daemons -Fate Crusher- 3500 Points
Grey knights - 1000 Points
I'd say take Erics second list, but I'm also tempted to say take the Storm Guardians. They'd be another melee unit on the field. Downside is, you're going to lose out on the heavy weapons platform, but on the flip side, depending on what you've got, it might not be that big of a deal.
At most, you're trading 4 S6 shots at a fantastic BS3 (ahem), or an EML, for that extra attack in melee. Give 'em embolden, or conceal (and take an avatar), and you're sitting pretty
