Forgeworld Cobra Type II
Asurman + Matching wave serpent
Guardians + Weapons platform
Fuegan and Fire Dragons
So Eldar folks, I find myself in a quandary. My craftworld runneth over with things that still need painting, but I was having trouble focusing on what I should do next. I'm torn between lavishing time on he sexy models that won't get used that often (Forgeworld stuff and Phoenix Lords) or the standard guys to ensure I can field a fully painted force or just something interesting or quick.
So I thought I'd put my fate in the hands of the forum and let you choose.
I'll commit to focusing on what you choose and promise to post pics to prove that I'm doing what I've been told.
I've put the choices in the poll and will go with whatever is winning on Saturday.
Thanks in advance for your help with my useless decision making skills.
I vote fully painted list. Forgeworld and random stuff can wait until later, you don't use it as often. Plus it makes the back end of painting more fun.
Check my Blog for Battle Reports, useless ranting and more! Comments appreciated.

good thread. I could sometimes use help deciding too.
But I usually get a unit 90% done, then get bored and start another unit. So I have several armies that are almost done (like no details painted).
I voted for Guardians, mostly because I like the look of a fully painted squad with weapon (it somehow makes them seem like a more viable unit choice).
Harlequins is my choice. And paint what you use most often first, really, since those are the ones you will look at most. That being said i avoid the problem of looking at unpainted minis by only fielding painted ones. Simple and it motivate me when i realise i can't field whatever newest list i threw up together for next game night and have to go in a mad rush of painting to have something to field...
i voted the cobra because its so awesome.
Eldar -APOC- 6500 Points
Chaos Daemons -Fate Crusher- 3500 Points
Grey knights - 1000 Points
I've felt this several times before and here's my fix - go with the guardians.
Since they'll receive less attention and you have so much left to paint, do something less important and save your effort for something good. Sounds like you need a recharge and need something less significant and easy to paint - something to paint just to get it done rather than showcase. Use a big brush, drybrush and use washes. It'll be fun and quick!
Then when you finish it you'll feel good to have completed part of that goal in the back of your mind to have a fully painted army. You will have more patience on the nicer models which require more attention and won't feel rushed to finish the awesome model just so you can work to have a fully painted army faster!
paint your ussualy list models....looks so much better when both armies are painted
Hight elf and Craftworld Eldar army project pics heavy: linky
Thanks for the feedback so far folks. Looks like Guardians are the popular choice for the time being.
I have a 20 strong squad, but I more commonly run them as a cheap 10 man unit to help in objective based games. If these guys win then I'll also do a Warlock with Singing spear.
I voted for Fire dragons... simply because I finished painting my squad last night.
I have been on a painting binge lately.
This month i've finished the following:
Wave Serpent w/ EML
Wraithlord w/ BL and EML
5x Fire Dragons (including exarch)
1x Striking Scorpion
8x Dire Avengers
5x Warp Spiders
4x Dark Reapers
I am determined to finish my entire army before the holidays.
So far I have the following left
5x Striking Scorpions
35x Guardians w/ weap platforms
6x Swooping Hawk
5x Dark Reapers
Hmm... this gives me an idea - I should start a painting blog! (Sorry didnt meant to hijack your thread).
Eldar Project Log
Saim-Hann Eldar: 5000 Points
Wow, that's going at a fair pace. It takes me an age to get anything painted as I am pretty slow and easily distracted.
Point me at your blog when you've started it.
