Why are Orks good and bad? Give me some strengths and weaknesses of Orks. I have always wondered about them.

Well I've never actualy seen in 'em in action b/c I've never met anybody who plays orcs.Bust my cousin's startin' a feral orc army.Appearently theyre good at close range,and they can pump out a lot of shots in long range but can't hit *****.The best tatcti,from what I understanbd,is to take as many orcs as you can get ahold of,mass them all together into one big group,and smash it against the enemy!
Basically, have you ever wanted to really really humiliate that Marines player who focuses 100% on close combat?
Or perhaps go toe to toe against that Eldar player who loves starcannons just a little too much?
It seems to me, or at least where I play, that Marines is the standard that all other armies try to destroy. Orks on the other hand, will slaughter most opponents who focus against a small contingent of heavily armored soldiers. It's all about the numbers!
Well the troops are cheap in points so you can find very large numbers of boyz, the downside is they drop like flies to any kind of decent ranged weapon.
large mobz of orks also hardly run cause of a nifty special rule for them, the army is great ( probaly the greatest IMO ) if your really into conversions.
What is the special rule that makes them faster?

Orks are a great army to have fun with and have a laugh with, they are NOT a powergamers army. They have a massed amount of ladz deced out with good close combat weapons, that mean everything has a 4+ Armour save vs them, even a daemon prince, with three attacks each(slugga boyz) they hit very hard as well. They are a great army to build and paint. They take some to master though. People will beat you as its the most balanced list in 40k its not a 3 ordinance 1000 point guard army or a three wraithlord eldar army its just a great army to play with. Also its nice to out number marines three to one.

Yup, slugga boyz do get a lot of attacks in CC, now with the new 2 inch rule, amazing. Yet the speed of the Orks is sadly, really slow. Pretty much the only way you can make it faster is by adding a transport which dies when someone sneezes on it. Not to mention it can only carry 10 guys. The new rules really screw the Ork transport over. Even if you penetrate the vechile(AV10) We jump out... Oh well.
On the other hand, Orks basically have the best fluff there is in the whole 40k game. Even reading how they talk and the battles, extreamly fun and unpredicable.
