Just wondering what are you guys favorite tactics and why.
"That is the sound of inevitability"
I put my Talos at the very edge of my deployment zone. If you are playing quarters this is especially good. Most missions have a minimum distance that the units have to be apart for deployment. By pushing the Talos to the very edge, you force your opponent to deploy to the back of his deployment zone. He is then nice and contained for my Raiders to swoop up and "surround and pound."
Assaulting a unit infront of his firepower...that way he cant fire past the combat and i have a nice fire-free avenue to run my assault units up
Never judge someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes...by that time they'll be a mile away, and have no shoes
I have ravager and talos behing cover on one side with jetbikes in front of them and the other part with eveything else with wyches waiting to be deepstriked in on raider and sending jetbiked out to loare the forces out and blast 'em and what's left blast with troops them if there not to many close combat people left charge with Archon and 9 incubi and Drazhar ((My archon has combat drugs:+1 attack, agoniser)) and CHARGE!
Dark Eldar: The Kabal Of the Black Heart: Bloody Claw division.
Black Legion: Division 666
Vampire Counts Von Castein Bloodline: w/l/t
my favourite tactic is to get lots of mandrakes and confuse the opponent by seeing all these single models where a squad could be and then on turn 3 i pop them out and assualt the nearest unit (to tye the up for a long time) or if it is a table quarters or take an objective i will sneak them up to it and then use their cover save thing to keep them there while using as much covr as possible to ensure their survivability
mandrakes win me most of my games (more than wyches!
The codex has a couple of good tactics. i quite enjoy the counter-attack tactic, worked well in a couple of battles.
<a href='http://kevan.org/brain.cgi?chaosbringer' target='_blank'>40k-forum.tk go there, its the best</a>
i've heard alchohol makes you stupid!
No i'm . . . doesn't
I liked the tactic where you get heaps of Raiders and use them to make a wall and enclose your enemy. if it's for quarters you encolose most of his army in one quarter and kill off the rest. BANG in a few turns you can hold 3 quarters and your opponent can't do ANYTHING! AHAHAHAHAH! But in the new rules they can see past skimmers until they are destroyed. So using skimmers to hide other skimmers is useless too.
R U 0K!??!? BUHHHHST WUUUULFFFFF!!!
my wcyhes on a raider goes to hunt any strong character(s). raider squad goes one side, jetbike with lord goes to other side and tries to attack the enemy from the rear. talos goes down the middle. ravagers and warriors squad with DL stays in the middle providing fire support.
I prefer "refused flank" attacks, or attacks against both flanks.
If you use your jetbikes and surround all exits of transports, everything automatically dies inside. It can kill even the biggest retinues with ease.
If you want more of an example, there is a page that this guy uses it.
go on yahoo, look up dan's dark eldar page. He has pictures and stuff to show this tactic.
