I was wondering what equipment you give your Big Mek if you're also giving him a SAG. Personally I like giving him either a burna or a Power Klaw, the burna if I think I'm going to be shooting at mainly infantry so I can use it as a power weapon, the power klaw if I think I'm going to be shooting at mainly tanks and other armour.
I realize that against units the BM is probably not going to have much hope in destroying them, although depending on the unit (a largeish unit of Tau fire warriors perhaps) it could be feasible. However, I don't like how if he gets double 5s it basically takes him out of the game as surely as rolling a double 1. The extra equipment gives him some survivability as well as keeping him as a semblance of a threat.
So, what equipment do you give your Shokk Attack Gun toting Mek? Keep in mind this refers to any equipment, not just weaponry.

Ammo runt and call it a day. Jumping into combat is a rarity anyway so I don't see much point in spending a ton on making him good at it (Burna, cybork, 'eavy armor).

I agree with ==Me== completely. The SAG isn't supposed to get into close combat, and is too easy to single out and kill before he attacks. Just give him an ammo runt, nothing more.
