Welcome to Librarium Online!
I realize this might be a really stupid question upfront. I'm pretty new. I've been messing around with lists and I've settled on getting some Killa Kans with Kustom Mega Blastas. I went to look around for the actual models themselves and I ran into a problem. I only seem to be able to find models for Kans with big shootas, rokkits and burnas. Am I missing something? How do you go about equipping them with Kustom Mega Blastas?
I'm afraid there is no official model with a kmb. You just have to either use a random gun bit that looks high-techy, or just use a burna, which is close enough in my opinion.
Of course, I'd also suggest converting them out of spare parts if you can, since they're very expensive when bought retail. I made my first batch from the barrels in a terrain set, and some extra bits.
It couldn't be a rokkit or shoota, but something different would be fine.
If you have Lootas/Burnas, the kit comes with a plastic KMB which you can repurpose fairly easily.
Speaking of building cans....what do you guys prefer to use as legs? Making nice legs is generally my hold up on doing this conversion as I don't have any solid ideas.
I've seen people use bits of sprue, worked out nicely with some Orky know-wots.
I made mine out of sprue as well. As long as the arm looks cool, it doesn't seem to matter if the legs are a little puny.
I will look into that. What about bodies? I was thinking film canisters might work well.
Used paint pots work well as bodies. Also, for the legs, I like to make tracks for them, as I find them easier to build then legs and in my opinion they look better.
Eh, paint pots are okay, but they're a little fragile (the citadel pots anyway). I prefer something a little more sturdy. Also, cleaning out the pots might be a pain.
I found some cheap kaleidoscope sets (6 for $2) at a toy store that works well. Film canisters would also work fine.
