Welcome to Librarium Online!
I am new to WH40k working on my ork army. How do you prefer to put together your trukk models? Assuming they need to be very representative of choice you make with extra equipment - what do you usually put on your trukks? Thanks!
As a fellow new 40k and Orks player (aka "I probably don't know what I'm talking about"), I personally have been liking fielding them with the Red Paint Job, Boarding Plank and Wreckin' Ball upgrades. The Red Paint Job, just because I think it's hilarious, and it's so fluffy and so cheap, so why not? I think Boarding Plank enables a Nob w/ PK to assault a vehicle, which is cool. And Wreckin' Ball is straight up bad ass. Here is a list of the other upgrades, and why I opted out:
Grot Riggers: I initially took this, but a friend pointed out that Trukks are so frail that this probably wouldn't be effective.
Stikkbomb Chukka: Orks have such low initiative that I'm not sure having frag grenades are going to help against the majority of lists.
Armour Plates: Similar reasoning as Grot Riggers.
Reinforced Ram: Eh, simply in my games I haven't really a need to Tank Shock.
really just build them as you want but keep them cheap, mine are usually fielded just with wrecking balls- gives them something to do after what they have been transporting has jumped out.
The reason you'll see a lot of the other player's taking Reinforced Rams is that they allow you to re-roll difficult terrain tests. Given that these have the chance to immobilize your Trukk, it's really something you don't want to see happen. This is my trukk set-up:
Red Paint Job
Grot Riggers/Wrecking Ball/Boarding Plank, I pick these based on personal preference and how I feel, they're mainly fun extras rather than absolute must-haves.

I don't bother with things like grot riggers or armor plates on trukks. I can't remember a single situation where they would've been useful, not in almost 100 games. If the trukk is getting shot at, then it's probably going to blow up. That's just a fact of life. Grot riggers or armor plates aren't going to help much because it's very unlikely that your trukk will be stunned or immobilized, and not destroyed.
The only upgrade I always give trukks are rams. They're invaluable for moving through terrain. Otherwise you have a 1 in 6 chance of getting stuck on terrain, virtually eliminating the unit from the game. Otherwise, the only upgrades I might use if I have the spare points are stikkbomb chukkas and red paint.
Boarding planks are very iffy because if you're that close to an enemy vehicle, then it's usually time to disembark. Otherwise you'll probably be blown up during your opponent's turn. Still, it's up to you.

Thanks for your feedback, Everybody! Very much appreciated as the Trukk is next on my to build/paint list!
Yeah I agree with with grax and freman. I use reinforced rams and actually armor plates. the people I usually play know how fragile they are so use a lot of low strength stuff against them like bolter and heavy bolters. So the armor plates have actually get there points worth. For me at least.
But yeah plank and wrecking ball sound/look cool but truck are way to fragile and if you are that close to a transport get you nob out. He can kill it easier.
Repainting Orks not sure how many points yet

If I field trukks, I field them in mass, with reinforced rams, and wrecking balls. If I go first, I whack them all down the board. The bonus of having multiple trukks is that the opposition can only shoot at so many, so if you go second, remember that, and think about how your gonna field them. I find that the more tactical the setup, the more likely your gonna win.
