how can we defeat those guys???Most of them got streanght 4 or 5 and initative 4 or 5!!!!!!
So i assume a frontal attack wont be effective!
Depends on what you run into. I'm a nid player and I think I'll be seeing some more lovely games against orks soon.
You can easily take out Termagant in cc, Naked Hormagaunts will do as well. Genestealers will be taking down by A) firepower or TONS of people running them over. I haven't seen anybody post lists with raveners since the new codex so you'll do fine. Gargoylers are a bit like Termagaunts, you'll do fine. Warriors are slow or pod either way, pour some lovely lootas love in it and they'll probably perish. As well as that lovely nob instagibbing them.
The mc's with low initiative will be taking down by a nice assault. Might take 2 turns, but most big bugs don't have the attack to win the combat or to make your leadership low enough. Big bugs with Initiative, well what else do you do against big bug with initiative?
Hope this helps you. Just don't go footslogging against the bugs and I think you'll do fine. (Read the codex specific rules, might help)
'Thou shalt not refer to the Adeptus Soritas as "Bolter Bitches" nor shalt thou go anywhere near our sisters during the time of the "Red Rage," lest thou wishes to be the first human to enter orbit without the aid of a shuttle.'
Erm....Toyranids are as expensive as orks???
Cause Orks are relatively a cheap army....And i assume that tyranids must be too, cause they consider to be a horder army....
The troops and infantry aren't that tough for Orks, although the monstrous creatures can be a hassle. A nob with a powerklaw in a group of boyz probably isn't going to be enough to really deal with the big ones. You need massed powerklaws, or a lot of shooting to take down those buggies. The trick is to not get swarmed, so I'd definitely go mechanized over footslogging.
I actually went up against orks in a apoc game with my nids. 20 hormangaunts w/furious charge and poisoned attack (followed by a Malanthrope to give them Prefered Enemy) assaulted 30 ork boyz. That's 60 S4 I6 attacks always wounding on 4+ no matter the toughness w/re-rolls to hit and to wound. I practically wiped them out, causing about 24-25 unsaved wounds.
Now consider this scenario. A tervigon with toxin sacs and adrenal glands and 20 devourer termagaunts. If they get the charge, first of all that's 60 S4 shots followed but fearless gaunts with poisoned attacks, furious charge and counter-attack.
So just make sure you get the charge and the orks will win against the gribblies (and maybe even against the TMC's). If they get the charge, they'll do a lot of damage.
Record: Win - Loss - Draw: Hive Fleet Pandora (New) 32-6-6 Space Wolf 7th Co. 52-11-6
Blood Angels 12-4-2 Daemonhunters 20-8-3
Imperial Guards 12-5-2 Daemons 8-3-2
Yeah, the new Nids are basically the last nail in the coffin for pure horde/footslogging Ork lists. It's now speed freaks or nothin', but that's fine with me. Speed is a lot more fun. ^_^
I dunno bout you, but as a nids player Nobz freak the hell outa me. Also a Warboss is stupid cheap for what he can do in CC. If I were to tailor a list for Nids I would take 2 Warbosses, 2 units of 8 Nobz, and just use the rest of the points on boyz in trukks
Also, as per usual there are very few Invulnerable saves in the Nid codex, in fact IIRC there's only one, on the Zoanthrope. The trick is to snipe his Synapse Beasts (Hive Tyrant, Tyranid Warriors etc) neither of which have Invulnerable saves. Hence, try using some low AP weapons like Lootas (great for taking out Warriors), Shock Attack Gun (great for taking out Hive Tyrants, since it's a large blast you can take out both him and his Guard at the same time) and some Flash Gitz in a looted tank equipped with a boomgun. That's how I do it, anyway.
