Hi, well yes, as Bobby pointed out, they are not an official army, although you could argue they are semi official as teh army list is published on the GW web site. But your opponents are well within their rights to turn you down and you certainly would not be able to use them in tourneys.

As for the new codex, reading between the lines on the interview I have seen, it is VERY unlikely that Harlequins will be in the final cut, there is far too much information on other more common and currently official craftworld armies to be sorted out and included, at an early stage the Codex had both Harlequin and Exodites as possibly in but as early as the begining of this year GW designers admited these would be the first to be cut from the codex to allow for more info on standard armies. So I really wouldnt hold out any hope there.

However, I am rather surprised by the response from your local GW store. If an opponent is prepared to face them then it shouldnt be a problem. You need to sort out a friendly to try them out
Everything you have been told is a lie!

Actualy the Harlequin list was made chap. approved during the EOT campaign and some people used them.
I've been playing them for about 4 years now, mainly in City Fight campaigns.
The Complete codex can be found in citadel journals issue 39 and 44.

With the 4th ed 40K rules out, my first Kill-Team is gonna be Harlies. I cant wait to see how they do with some of those missions.
