does the drones for the tau empire count as part of the unit for the number u can have
example: a tau fire warriors have a shas'ui has two gun drones but say if u fill the unit to 12
so basicly wut i am saying is would the gun drone put it over the twelve?
no the drones are just a wargear for the fire warrior shas'ui to feild, like a bonding knife or hard-wired systems
There are three kinds of people in this world, those who can count and those who cannot.
One thing to remember however is while the drones do not count towards the max amount you can have in a squad, it does count towards model count in regards to riding in a transport. A devilfish can only carry 12.
Why did the chicken cross the road?
For the greater good.
The unit entry also specifies what models contribute to the maximum unit size. A basic Fire Warriors squad must consist of 6-12 Fire Warriors. Drones aren't Fire Warriors and thus don't count against this limit. A single Fire Warrior may be upgraded to a Shas'ui allowing him to take wargear, which may consist of up to 2 drones.
Therefore a Fire Warrior squad may consist of 11 Fire Warriors + 1 Shas'ui + 2 drones for a total of 14 models (12 of which are Fire Warriors). They do, however, count for transport capacity and for morale so this unit would be at half strength at 7 models and assuming it was at full strength would test for 25% casualties after 4 casualties.
