So generally when I play, I like a lot of terrain. Mostly buildings so I can get in closer and massacre. So I just though I'd ask since most everyone is more experienced than me. How much and what kind of terrain do you use.
any kind that blocks LoS, hills that dont slow me down and block LoS =D
It is my sacred duty to save your soul from the Dark Gods of Chaos... and I willsave your soul, even if you die in the process.
I like things like building because they have some effect on the game. Terrain that I can run around on is fun too because I get to chase people about with Stealers etc. I don't like things like a few fake plants which I have to go around. Generally stuff I cannot interact with and anything that is going on in the game annoys me. I don't like it when people try to insist on little or almost no terrain so they can easly shoot me up.
We tend to try and vary it up.. as far as amount? We use the 'suggested' 25% of the board should be terrain. Push it ALL into one corner before placing it and keep adding 'till you get to 25% .. Then we take turns distributing/moving pieces about.
ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.

I've found that the more varied you make the cover save and the terrain itself, the better game it is... Generally keep +4's in the middle, something to fight over along with the objectives, and then 5's, 6's for everything else... We usually play with atleast 3 LoS blocks (small buildings or ruins) to keep away from games that are move up, fire, repeat...
I like the 25% method and placing terrain to minimize table-edge to opposite table-edge unobstructed shoots.

Yup, I agree 25%, with varied stuff.
Something in the middle is handy, as is some area terrain.
