Hello, recently I played a space marine player. He had a 10 man squad of terminators equipped with thunder hammers and storm shields. even with fire dragons the terminators still got there 3+ invulnerable save. Any advise on how to kill them.
Thanks for any ideas
Two options really, you can either a.) destroy their transport and ignore them due to how slow they are on foot and having no ranged attack whatsoever, or b.) hit them with as many S4/6 shots as possible and drown them in saving throws, a full Bladestorming Dire Avenger squad with dual catapult Exarch statistically will kill 1.85 Terminators without Doom, with it, you'll kill 2.77. Really though, if they've bought ten Terminators and a Land Raider to transport them, you're looking at a 650+ point unit that loses all value once it becomes stranded mid board. Down the transport and obliterate the rest of his force, which is going to be 30-45% smaller than your once his Terminators are left hanging in the wind.

In my past few games, I found the best Termi killer I used was my units of Dire Avengers with Farseer Guidance and Bladestorm. Now, I used Guide because the opponent was BT and he has some protection from psyc, but honestly, shooting 32 shots and hitting with 29 of them, you have enough dice there than your VERY likely to roll a good number of wounds. And even if he is making 10+ armor saves that round, it will hurt his force badly. And, yes. Outrunning and dancing around them helps a lot.

Mindwar is a good trick if you can spare the points for it. Failing that I've used a wraithlord successfully against TH/SS termies. Maybe it was just good rolls but they couldn't even hurt my lord.
As a matter of fact I've just checked the rulebook and he should have stomped my lord completely. He told me that THs allow armour saves (and despite being skeptical I just followed Sun Tzu's rules [never interrupt the enemy in the middle of a mistake] so I just agreed with him) and that's what did it.
What is there to say really? It's all powercreep. Eldar infantry don't get enough attacks for the points we pay, simply.

Statistically it works out to be something like a 30% chance to kill a termy. For 20 pts that seems like a worthwhile way of saying "ha ha".
There have been a number of occasions where I've bladestormed 2 full DA squads at a doomed terminator squad and killed 1. I do not recommend this tactic. I advise trying to slip a necron lord with a warscythe into your army and pray that your opponent doesn't notice.

What have you done here? You've forced your opponent to roll against a guaranteed automatic wound (as we know mindwar is the DIFFERENCE between your leadership roll off, even if you both roll 1's its still 1 guaranteed wound) and he's being forced to take these saves at the same save his regular troops do. Statistically in this case you will cause 1 unsaved wound, thus killing the sergeant.
20 points for this capability is nothing to sniff at. Killing regular marines holding rocket launchers etc without any problem, and reducing terminators to inferior saves is easily worth the price of an EML, an EML which statistically has less chance of hurting a terminator.

Considering that its a huge investment to buy 10 assault terminators, I would consider putting in a bit more firepower than usual. Twice I've killed all 5 of my opponents assault terminators by dooming them bladestorming them with 15 Dire avengers, my wave serpent, and then assaulting them. To put things into perspective, with doom a 10 man bladestorming squad with an exarch with two shuriken catapults will kill on average 2.51 assault terminators. That means two squads per 5 terminators should do the trick.
Also some rangers should help a bit.
