I am curious about the acid blood and toxic miasma biomorphs. I've been thinking about using them but I am not sure which is best or if either is actually worth it. I like my bugs to be fluffy (have some character) and if I gave them either of these biomorphs I would probably want to stick with them.
Acid blood seems to be the most dangerous in that people hit get no armour save and it can glance vehicles. However it does require the model that has it lose a wound or wounds which is not always good. It think it may be good if used in a game where wounds in assault are likely, such as fighting the new Blood Angels. I'm not nuts about the Pyrovore which has acid blood, though the model is very cool. I was more thinking will it be good on other Tyranids that are more dangerous like a Hive Tyrant?
I am a little confused about how acid blood hits though. Does it hit only the model that inflicted the wound? If a model with a powerfist inflicted the wound does that mean he takes the hit and it can't be distributed into a squad like shooting so the powerfist guy can avoid death.
Toxic miasma seems like fun but it isn't as likely to harm something as acid blood. I really is only likely to work if surrounded by enemy models. I think it's good on a Venomthrope, as an extra bit on the Venomthrope really. What I'm really thinking about is it any good on something like a Hive Tyrant?
What do you all think about this?
My problem is their post cost. I am very wary of putting too many additional things on to my already expensive bugs.
I appreciate that this does not answer your question, but felt it is a valid comment. I prefer Adrenals and Sacs to these two.
You can make a combo with: Acid Blood + Lash Whip. Or a MEGA COMBO: Acid Blood + Lash Whip + Regeneration + Leech

IMO i think toxic miasma is kind of worthless since models get their armor saves. Acid Blood is a very useful biomorph, but only if the model with it gets to close combat quickly enough so he has wounds to spare. Reason being is that models that tend to go after your big bugs are either named or well equipped, giving them easy chances to wound you and typically with power weapons. Blood gives them the chance to take a wound on top of the attacks you will make or have made (depending on the initiative of the model with acid blood and what you are fighting). I would love this biomorph to be available to the carnifex so I can spore him in or the trygon which tunnels in, getting both creatures to close combat quickly, but they don't have the option..

I think acid blood on the Tervigon could be a nice bonus. Couple it with regenerate and it makes for a really nasty MC that can hold an objective. If only the Tervigon could get lash whips. *sigh* I have been kicking around the idea of a venomthrope or two hanging around an advancing Tervigon as well. I have seen the combo of the Tervigon/Venomthrope and it does make termagants crazy good. With Acid blood, it would make people think twice about assaulting the Tervigon over the termagants.
