Space Marines (and its individual chapters)
Chaos Space Marines
Seeing many threads in the forum on how to beat a certain army, I'll like to discuss if Eldar is super effective against a certain army. Please explain your choices and also give an indication if you think Eldar also has a weakness against a certain army.

Fear is of the unknown...
and weakness against IG (but here everyone has wekness against the new improved IG
Hight elf and Craftworld Eldar army project pics heavy: linky
I selected Tau. In my experience Tau have not been able to keep my fast moving mechanized army off of them, beyond their usual lack in close combat skill they also suddenly lose the advantage of their disruption pods in the ensuing vehicle duel.
And my scorps with re-rollable 3+ armor saves are a nightmare for both Kroot and retaliating fire warriors as they largely lack the ability to deny me those rolls.
Tau also suffer from having their anti tank abilities concentrated on a subset of their forces, unlike other races that might have a credible anti tank weapon in nearly every unit, allowing me to concentrate my attack on the things that threaten my serpents first and than mop up the rest.
By no means an auto win, but I'd say Eldar have an advantage.
I voted for Tau, but it's only because I could only choose one.
If we know who we're going up against, and we tailor, nobody should give us a problem, IG included.
Mind you, I'm my groups resident IG player....and Eldar player, so I never have to play against myself (though another group member also plays eldar, but with the new nid codex he went back to that).
All I know is that when playing against eldar as my IG, I fear bright lances tearing up my precious russes.
I ended up going with Nids even though there is several that could be picked. I was worried about the new codex and all the new toys but in the 4 or 5 games I've had agains them the contest was never in doubt. Mech eldar has simply caused to many problems for the bugs as they can't seem to crack the transports fast enough to get at the juicy insides ( still waiting to face an army with alot of tyrand guard ). Often they are forced to assault to try and break them open which leaves the bugs bunched up and open to a strong counter charge and massed flamers. Demons against reserve eldar is another that is often done before it really gets started as the demons deepstrike is negated and even possibly turned against them when they are forced to deepstrike on to an empty table with your full force getting ready to pounce.
i chose orks because one guy in my group who plays them got me into an apoc game (4000 points) with him. while he brought 3 super heavys(2 stompas and a large truck thing) i had none. by the end of match it was 15 to 2 kill points with all the objectives being contested, and with the two stompas having chain reaction explosions.
I chose space marines.
It seems to me they are exactly the kind of army we should be good at defeating. Slow, not very many units (The only ones we ever seem to outnumber), and we have banshees which are tailor made for killing space marines. Plus most of our vehicles have options for a starcannon which eats marines.
Tau because Eldar can just run rings around them while destroying all their AT. Plus their face when they realise their railguns only count as S8 against waveserpents hehe.
My nemesis would be a well made IG army as there is no way you are gonna get rid of that much nasty quick enough. But luckily the only IG list that scares me at my store belongs to me, as all the other IG players at my store have only just started 40k and have a random hodge-podge of models.
I also voted for Orks. Every time I've fought them, I have had little trouble taking them out. Mass high STR weapons and army-wide speed seem to enable us to run circles around them.
Tau seem to be the popular choice and i think I can see them being weak versus Eldar (used to play Tau). But I personally haven't actually fought against a Tau player in many years.
