I know this is technically an army list but i'm asking more for the sheer crazyness of this tactic
Big mek with Kff
Big Mek with Kff
6 squads of 29 orks with nob, pk and bpole
that comes out to about 1270
You can drop two of the squads down to 26/27 and get two squads of 9 lootas
i was thinking of trying this out simply for the jawdropping sight when your opponent sees you deploy 180 odd orks
Has any one ever tried this kind of list?
This is a known setup... a really cool army. And an extra 9 kans for 1850 pts give You a decent tournament list. Loads of painting and also shoota boyz almost double cost as slugga boyz
It's an okay list...honestly I'm a bit put off my lists that get posted here - they seem to repeat the same unit over and over and over....
I'd play with six huge mobs of boyz but it's a bit over the top for me. So I add some other troop choices and try to limit the number of boyz mobs I use to three or four!
so does this army own or what?
Fremen, I just read that post. Was it just a vote or did they actually play each other?
I was assuming this form of army will take a beating for tw turns until the orks catch a unit then it gets crushed. Rinse repeat but against a static guard army or marines can the 180 ork tide work?
Like all spam lists, it either works great, or doesn't work at all. It comes down to whether your opponent is prepared to deal with that many Orks or not. If they are, they'll easily beat you because you won't be able to move fast enough to pull off any strategy besides 'charge'! If they aren't, then you'll win, but probably won't make a friend while doing it.
I'd shave off a unit of boyz or two, and a KFF (it isn't that hard to string your entire army within 6in of a single KFF), and instead add some grots, lootas, killa kans, and big gunz. In fact, as long as you have a unit of 16-19 grots to stand in front and screen your army, you probably don't need a KFF at all, and can instead take either an SAG or Warp 'ead for added versatility and power.
Horde can work, but it needs to be backed up by long range firepower.
