I just received a nice sized Tau army in a trade last week. I noticed the person modeled their crisis suits on flying bases, instead of those 40mm bases. I really like the idea, but is it legal? The flying bases seem slightly smaller, and for some reason that doesn't seem like it would be allowed. Thanks
It isn't allowed. The bases are smaller. The idea is cool though. I have several of my Tau in mid flight. Just chop off the bottom of the flying base and add your termie bases. Behold! Look preserved and now they are table legal.
I really need to focus on a single army...
Orkz: 3000 pts. Slaaneshi Chaos: 2500 pts. Ultramarines: 1250 pts. Necrons: 1000 pts.
Eldar: 1000 pts. Tau: 1000 pts. Dark Angels: 550 pts. Grey Knights: 450 pts
Ugh. Well actually. I think I might just glue the whole flying base to the 40mm base. That'll preserve the basing job the person had done on the flying base
Gluing the clear flight bases to the 40mm bases is what I do because it helps make it more stable and less likely to break.
That works too! ^_^
I hadn't stopped to think there would be basing on the flight bases as I never put any there myself! Yes, just gluing the bottom of the flight base onto a 40mm base would be the best solution then. Hope it works out well. For the Greater Good!
