Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hey all, just thought I'd post this for your amusement, maybe y'all can join in with your horrendous mistakes.
So I was playing my friend who plays Tau last week for like the tenth time, and I have still yet to win a game. This was my first game against him using my brand new Fire Dragons, which I bought not for their tankbusting skills, but rather specifically because I would be able to cause instant death on his commander Sha'so with 2 crisis suits in retinue. So, turn 1 I Flat out and star engine my Dragons over so they'll be able to hop out and shoot turn 2. Turn 2 comes around without my Wave Serpent coming under any fire. My Dragons jump out and melta the crap out of his battlesuits and shield drones. I had 4 Dragons plus Exarch and I rolled 5 hits and 5 wounds! Awesome right? No more battlesuits, right? Well that only happens if you remember the whole "Instant Death" thing. Otherwise his suits just take a wound each, and then proceed to completely wipe out my Dragons. Needless to say he went on to yet another rout of my proud and mighty Eldar. 2 days later I'm cruising the forum and saw something about instant death somewhere. I think my neighbors thought I was being murdered the way I was screaming when I realized I had just made the Biggest Screw up EVER!
Well, I won't be forgetting that rule again. Lesson learned.
wow that sucks.... ive never really had an experiance with tau but one time i charged my 8 man seer council into 2 squads of sisters of battle b4 i knew about their little marter thing.... needless to say it was a long tough combat that i lost every turn,my farseer actually held on to the end tho lol.
So you forgot about it causing instant death? It happens, from time to time. I've made that mistake.
Usually I have to remind my enemy that my falcons pulse laser is more than enough to instant kill a character that they've foolishly assigned a wound to, to take advantage of their invul.
Bye bye special character.
once i was playing with my tau when my commander (whose bodyguard were annhialated last turn) came under full fire of a leman russ punisher (29 shots) and took the four wounds required to kill him, but it was only when i was walking out of the store that i rememberd i gave my commander feel no pain, and needless to say my friends were laughing they're buts off.
There are three kinds of people in this world, those who can count and those who cannot.
Lol back in like 2006 I was playing a veteran eldar player(me still kinda fresh to the game) who was at least 25 years my senior and was thinking how cool it would be if I could use my 5 man Fire Dragon squad's Exarch's flamer to wipe out his giant 10 man footslogging unit - I was so blind I boosted my falcon close to the unit ready to move 12, unload, and shoot him next turn...
His turn comes around 'I have to ask - what were you thinking??' As he moves his 10 guys towards my falcon and 10 melta shots later its dead and my fire dragons get shot to pieces...
Heh... TBH you learn more from stuff like that though... I haven't been blinded by my greed since..!
How about outflanking my 9 eldar scorpions and exarch into perfect position near IG sitting on objective. I didnt fire for fear that they would be pulled out of assault range and then.............. I forget to assault... and they promptly get shot to hell by every IG in range.. nice....... Did this just 2 weeks ago... and ive been playing for 4 years....

An eldar friend of mine did something similar a few months ago where he totally forgot about a unit.
We were well into the game, it had pretty generic terrain but a big rock plateau (my friend is a terrain building genius). All-comer's eldar list against my phalanx with a smidge of destroyers necron list. He proceeded to get everything into range and ambush points etc. He moved his warp spider/ autarch unit onto the other side of the plateau, within shooting and assaulting range. Passed all of his dangerous terrain test, so I was primed for a great big walloping.
He shot with everything... but completely forgot about the warp spiders on the other side of the plateau. Assault phase came, still forgot they were there and didn't assault either. So when it came to my shooting phase, I declared I was going to rapid fire all of my gauss flayers (must've been about 30 and they spiders were the only thing in range) at the warp spiders.
He said "What warp-spiders?"
I said, whilst laughing uncontrollably "The ones just forgot about completely"
He looked and went red in the face. Needless to say, they did not survive at all. To this day, he has been meticilous about ensuring that he has used every unit.

Biggest mistake I've seen an Eldar player make was putting his Avatar in front of around 100 Guardsmen and forgetting to Fortune it. It always meets a horrible end when he uses it, just a matter of how. He should probably stop using it.....
stupidest move ever lol
Part of me would like to see that become your avatar or signature. :]
