these beast are very powerfull in the games and add a huge psychological effect to the battle, so yes IMO they are woth it.

to get them you have 2 options

1.- Forgeworld, just check their site, they have about 2 hieroules, 1 harridan and the soon to be released hierophant biotitan, this is expensive but you get really good looking models in return

2.- Make them using the tyranids guide to spawning found in CA 2004

Still one option:

Armourcast (or Armorcast, don't remember exact spelling) produced the following models in 40K-scale:

Malefactor (transport bug)
Exocrine (tank/ranged bug)
Haruspex (tank/CC bug)

The models aren't officially available anymore, since AC lost their license once Forge World started making specialty models, but the AC models can still be obtained from different places, most often eBay.

i have the 3 above and you can normaly pick them up on ebay i did . Models are great just scaled up ver. of the epic models , if you every seen them , i got a army of them too :-) there are no set rules for these as the only ones are for ver 2 of 40k not much good now lol there was something printed in WD about biulding the stats up on these can't remember which issue but i did use it once, worked out about 200 points for Exoctine giving it a 72" massive Venom cannon which 6 shots per turn at Ap 3 :-) "a dead marine is a good marine" also it was T 8 the Tau didn't like it much either and the Necron play would let me use it , having said that he hasn't ever beat me anyway

you beat me to the links lol i have got a picture of my own model but i'm not at home at the mo, the great thing about these guys is there classed as TMC so can be used in any battle :-) there not titan size , having said that you can mod them to make then have mass points they then become super heavy tanks size.

If it has rules in the Tyranid Codex, You can field it without opponent permission (reference FW Winged Tyrants). Problem is, these things do not have Codex rules...

That means You need to figure out their points cost and abilities using Creature Design Rules, which means that Your opponent can always say "no" and then You're not fielding them.

It doesn't matter what sort of creature it is, the CDR is very explicit in stating that any creatures made using it needs opponent permission. That means there is no difference between a WYSIWYG TMC and a big box labeled "Bio-Titan", You always need opponent permission.
"The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all biomatter consumed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be devoured."
