Welcome to Librarium Online!
I haven't been shopping for Orks lately, and am a bit more price aware since losing my job...but when I checked the price on a Meganob and saw it at $16 I just about flipped. Are they gold plated or something?
What's worse is five days later I went back and EVERY ONE of them was GONE. Somebody bought a new unit of meganobz....
I have five and luckily found an unopened one in my scrap box (it's like XMAS!)....the price tag on it is $12...and it is probably only a little more than a year old.
In Aus they are $33. I'm still waiting for plastics. Failing that i'm going to try plasticarding some
I've found out that the transparent plastic used in blisters is actually quite fantastic stuff. You can cut that to strips and glue them to the model for a "mega-armor". Now, you may notice its not that good looking yet, so what you do next is to get a piece of green stuff and mold it into a thin film to cover the "mega-armor". The davantage of thinplastic and GS to plasticard is that once you let the GS cure a bit (few hours is enough) you can use a toothpick (wet the tip first) to draw extra details on the armor.

Here are two ideas for making cheap meganobz:
1. Use terminators and just add lots of Orky bits.
2. Do what I did, and make them out of barrels and spare parts. Think of them as mini-killa kans. I took a barrel, glued pieces of sprue on for their legs, and then glued klaw/guns for the arms, and various icons and bits that are shaped like faces (the evil suns emblem, bad moons, or various chaos emblems work well).
"Any job worth doing, is worth doing with a powerklaw."
can we get some pics grax? The barrel nobs sound cool
Meganobz - $19.75 each now! I put it back and bought the Kans instead....
