Heres what i've come up with, inspired by some pictures i saw online.
What i cant decide is what type of color i should use on the different parts. As you can see the termagaunt is painted in red/bleached bone and a bit of purple.
So what do you guys think?
I'd use red for the orb/ball and the color of your Nids blood/bio-mass pool (purple is a good choice with red)
That's cool. It does look like an alien-thing sent down from the womb of the mothership to feed.
I agree with the above, purple goes well with red. You could also try to make it mostly black, like the burn marks of friction in the atmosphere. That might show that the surface was burnt as it entered the atmosphere.
yeah, I like how it turned out, you can do wonders with a glue gun. Think the size is about right too. Black would be a nice colour to use. I could just spray it all black. Then use sand for the base. Then maybe some red for the top of the ball. That would be quite easy to do as well I think and the next one i make I could just spray it black in the first place..
just be careful about the type of spray, some(most) of them eat away the ball material(what's-it's-name)
ok, so now its black. its a boccia ball if you wonder. And it survived the spraying. Now to try and paint it and still make it look good.. suggestions?
Ok, so heres what the final product looks like. Decided to use red in between the goo at the whole top of the ball. Would probably look a bit better if I painted the whole underside of what is visible of the ball, but I'm not sure if it would be possible to make it look nice
The process if anyone is interested:
1. Take a couple cd's as base, set a boccia ball in the middle and make a "crater" around it with something. (I used acryl)
2. Smooth out the lines in the boccia ball with greenstuff or something else. I didn't do this and I had to use extra glue to hide the lines.
3. get a gluegun and pour glue all over the thing to make it look nice.
4. spraypaint/paint/apply sand.
And then you're done!
Any input or comments would be appreciated.
oops, double post..

I would have thought it would be more pointy and with armour plates for protecting the squishy insides, but the dripping effect looks awesome
I like it round, but I agree on the armor plates since it got a 4+ save. Not sure how I would go about modeling it though. Especially since I wanna make a couple more. But guess my spore only got real hard carpace
