Does anyone actually use these?
I'm planning on taking the parasite of mortrex as my HQ, and figured skyslashers would be a worthy bodyguard, is this me being dumb? should i just stick with gargoyles?
haven't used swarms in... err... many, many years since i last played with necrons, so I've no idea!
If I've replied, i've probably used Italics...

I would say go with gargoyles, fully upgraded they are lethal and still cheap. That would make a quite dangerous unit. IF you only want them for extra wounds for the HQ, then the skyshlasher is cheaper, just hope your opponent dont shoot them with blasts.
Parasite+gargoyles would make a nice screening unit too. Or you could go with shrikes, that would be a really deadly and fragile unit, but it would be fast too though.
But as I said, I personally would go with gargoyles, hope that helped
I say go with Gargoyles. Sky Slashers are going to behave like any common Ripper swarm once they are in combat. The Parasite will cough up loads of Rippers for you to use so the Gargoyles will give you more flexibility in the units you use. Sky Slashers could still be used as back up though, the range of the host organism rule will make them better.
