Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hello I have been trying to invent a durable squad that can deal with my enemies no matter what they are and which army! (tanks, infantry,Marines,Orks, etc)
Actually that is the main drawback or advantage of the Eldar players that our units specialise in something but cannot stand in the battlefield alone,For instance o Space Marines squad can destroy both infantry and a tank (if it is equiped with a missile launcher).
So I start trying to invent a very strong and competitive squad when I came up with this idea:
It is very expensive (ABOUT 575pts) but sound good to me! I call it The Ulthwe's Seer Company and it includes:
5 Warlocks with the Destuctor psychic power.
5 Warlocks with Singing Spears and each one of them has the rest of the Warlocks Powers (Conceal,Enchance,Embolden)
The are mount in a Wave Serpent which gives them the needed speed and protection.
Think of this:
Ulthran re rolls the saves (WHICH ARE ALL INVULNERABLE!!),the hits and the wounds.
So you will be able to re roll the hits and the wounds made from both the Destructors and the Spears.
Also the Embolden power makes the Eldrads Powers almost unable to fail and if you use the MindWar ability you will be able to re roll the dice if not score above the enemy due to the Embolden power.(I'm not sure!!).Perfect to pick out anoying characters such as the Orks Warbosses, the Marines Sergents so you can reduce their rage in both the shooting and close combat face.
Against tanks you have 9 strenght and the Singing Spear can be trown in the conciderable distance of 12".And you can also assault the tank too with the same strenght!!
Against infantry and hordes you will have 28 attacks!! (if charge!!) (5x2 from the gys with the spears and 3x5 from the rest and 3 from the Ulthran). All of them wound on a 2 plus and re roll hits and maybe wounds!!!Pretty good if combined with the shooting attacks.
What's more you can kill strong opponents as well. You wound everything as said before on the 2+ and you have inv. save.So you will not be affraid to close combat a Trygon or maybe something a lot stronger like the necrons C'tans.
The bad thing is that you have 3 tougthens but ok this is a disadvantage that every Eldar has.
And also very expensive (but probably worth spending!!)
I belive that this squad can deal with almost everything. Please let me know what do you think!!
And...give us ideas about what units can support this squad and make it unstoppable!!
How many point is that squad, because a grey knights terminator squad with two incinerators will decimate that squad in a heartbeat...otherwise it holds out against everything else fairly well. And the terminator squad with grandmaster in it is only a fraction of the cost...
I serve my master and do as he wants. He wants the badlands, thus they will be his.

Alot of people use the ubercouncil:
10 warlocks: enhance/embolden, destructors if you want
When charging you've got 8 armor ignoring witchblade attacks, and 30 normal witchblade attacks from the warlocks usually hitting on 3's, and wounding on 2's rerollable(doom). Yriel can always pop outta the squad and hit a unit with his eye too. Not invincible but about as close to it as you can get.
You know that the problem is that they are on foot once the serpent they ride died. And on foot the`ll die to lasguns. Also why conceal? a 5+cover when you have 4+ inv?
Hight elf and Craftworld Eldar army project pics heavy: linky
Ok they are on foot but your wave serpent will get them really close to the enemy!!
That's all you need!! I don't care if it destroyed this squad is hard to beat and your enemy might ignore the Serpent!!
Also what I want from this squad is to get really close to the enemy, not moving from the one point to the other!! As for the lasguns ok you can save your Warlock on a 4+ and probably you can reroll it.
As for the save,I put it because some ranged weapons (The Necron's Phariahs not for sure) ignore inv, saves!!

Oh ok then!!!
Even in that situaton, imo honour should dicate that you're building alcomer lists, not just tailoring to own each individual list in the face. Building/Using all-comer lists makes you a better general.
