I am planning an army the uses a split force of walking and flying forces. The walkers will come on as normal, and the flyers will ds in using a lictor for precise positioning. My question is, would a unit of 5 shrikes work well with the 20 gargoyles and 2 Hive tyrants that are dsing in?
Maybe. What's your list?
But you won't be able to use a Lictor for "precise positioning". The absolute earliest you can take advantage of pheromone trail is on turn 3, and that assumes that the Lictor itself becomes available on turn 2 AND the units you wish to "precisely position" aren't already in play by turn 3.
ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.

I didn't read over the lictor rules again before posting this, but without the "precise conditioning", I think I can still make my dsing work well enough. I don't have a list made yet, but know it will contain, along with the already mentioned, 2 tervigons, 3 zoanthropes, 2-3 hive guard, and some termies and possibly hormaguants. Also, 3 choices between mawloc/trygon (I have 2), a tyrannofex, and/or a carnifex.
