Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hey guys, was wondering if anyone could help me paint my Tau in a snow/artic theme? I was thinking codex grey cloth and fortress grey armour? What you guys think? Any painting tips would be great and photos would be even better!!
May I also ask what colour schemes you lot do?
Haha, very similar to MY army's paint scheme!
All metals are white, few blue highlights like lights and shinny things and the Tau insignia, then cloth is rotten flesh which is a light tan color. for their boots its rotten flesh which is a deep brown.
painting is one of my favorite parts of warhammer and my army! THIS is where you will find the implementation of the love and pride of your army forever!

The Bork'an Sept are arctic, you could look at them for inspiration. Also Vior'la sept are white, which could also be compaired against.
I personally use Catachan Green and Kommando Khaki for my Tau. At first it looks bland, but then with the added skull white sept markings they really look nice. Contrary to popular scheme I paint my tau optics Subburst Yellow with a tad of burnished gold to give it shine. The Green and Yellow really work well together and bring out the optical details of Tau weapons and suits.
My camera cannot focus at the scale of a Warhammer model =( it's 4 Mega Pixels, I seem to need a new camera.
Hey thanks for the feedback!
I've currently tried-
Armour- Fortress Grey
Cloth- Codex Grey but i'm thinking of making it bluey by adding scadow grey
Lenses - Scab Red
I've painted one up and it looks ok.... but I am a really crummy painter. My brother is pretty awesome so i'm going to ask him to give me a few tips and if possible paint a few up Also Killjaqular you said you used Rotting Flesh for both cloth and boots XD
