Welcome to Librarium Online!
I've always loved giant monsters in my minis games. Naturally, I've been a dedicated tyrannic player for years. But with the latest Imperial , my eyes have glanced at those amazing sqiggoths. I've googled but haven't found too much in the way of advice. Without further ado....
1) Can I be competitive with a sqiggoth list? Not tournament wise, just friendly games.
2)what would be good infantry choices to ride on the squiggoths?
3) what other ork units would synergies with squiggoths?
4) is the gargantuan squiggoth worth it in your eyes?
Many thanks for your advice!
If you want the ultimate wow factor (and what warboss doesn't?)....get one. Or three. Or best yet, add a Gargantuan squiggoth to your Apoc army.
To be honest, the beast has gone down on turn one in every Apoc game I've played except one....but then he soaked up the fire from every Titan and Baneblade on the table. And he still was the coolest model, so it's all good. The only issue I have is I will never allow unpainted figures to shoot at him...I'll be damned if some unpainted POS scratch-built out of paper towel rolls stack of garbage is going to be used to make me remove my beautiful Squiggy!
As for passengers....Lootas don't work. A Mek with KFF is good (very good) and shoota boys rock, since you can shoot them all out of it.
In the one game when it lived, and the others when it went first, it did an excellent job of bowling over stuff.
Hopefully I can add a couple of small squiggoths and have a herd.
I met my first squiggoth (small) last night. Fun to play against. I managed to ram it with my deffrolla. It squeald, lost 2 wounds and ran off the table. The Ld 7 really hurt them.
