I am very curious, because as much as I like him, I am not sure if I can see a place for him unless the army is fast and in transports
Wash: This landing is gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".

IMHO snikrot makes the most sense in a footslogging list.... if he's outflanking... i mean, snick with 2 burnas coming in behind a guard line or whatever probably won't survive, but their assault will make a hole and keep things from shooting at the battle wagons / boys....
it provides mobility to a list that has none.
What's the benefit in a mech army of outflanking? I mean, the whole army is fast... why pay a premium for outflanking?
i dunno... i dont have a firm opinion here, would love to hear your thoughts
They can fit in quite well.
An opponent with a gun line can make life difficult for foot sloggers by staying very near the table edge with his important or vulnerable units. He's counting on it to take 3 or 4 turns for your units to run from mid-field to the table edge, and that your units will arrive nicely shot up by his line.
Taking Snikrot... it doesn't foil the tactic, precisely, but it means your opponent has to choose between leaving a valuable unit out for Snikrot to come on and munch in one turn, or to move the vulnerable units up closer to your chargin' boyz. Either way, you gain something.
It doesn't necessarily work perfectly, though, because if Snikrot arrives turn 2 and the rest of your army is well out of range, he's going to get one shot and then the enemy army is going to murderize his whole unit. (You might be able to survive this by choosing to assault an infantry unit that you're pretty sure you can't wipe out, but that won't do too much damage to the kommandos... but that's a mighty fine needle to thread.)
Sometimes that's all you need - "Snikrot comes in directly on top of the enemy artillery" might be all you need to get the horde to grips with the enemy's front line, at which point orks do their orky thing.
But if you're unlucky, he might come on, fail to glance a tank, and die without having done any damage.
I would absolutely bring him in a footslogger list. Just as Avatar said, it adds mobility, forces your opponent forward and will hopefully take something out. The great thing about Snikrot is he can come on from anywhere so if you opponent is in a corner, you can actually come in on the side, attack his front and (with a prolonged the combat) block some of his LOS for a turn keeping your boyz from getting shot up.
I think he is much more valuable with boyz on foot then with boyz in trukks who can get up there before he even shows up.
my 2 cents : )

I agree with the consensus that not only do kommandos/snikkrot work well in footslogging lists, it's really the type of list they're meant to be with. If your list is very fast moving, then you don't need kommandos going after distant units. You'll reach them by turn 3 anyway.
