i've been playing orks for a few years and until now i been useing normal bikes as nob bikers but id rather spend some money and make some realy good nob bikers. as anyone got any advice on converting and what parts i would need. money is not realy a problem but the cheaper the better.
ps. i dont want the ones of forge world i'd rather make my own.
Just use Nob-sized torsos, heads, arms. The warbiker kit includes one torso of nob size. You can get them in many other kits too. Beef out the bikes with extra spikes, armor plates, and doo-dads. There ya go!
As Seanchadith said, you can find Nob torsos in just about any Ork players Bitz Box as a Nob comes in the basic box, should you want to make a larger squad of Nob Bikers, or if you just want cooler looking Nobz than the Nob boxed set is always an option, and not overly expensive to boot!
Ask me about the Black and White Space Marine on the Black and White Bike!!!
you can buy AOBR nobs on ebay for pretty cheap and you can chop those up. The stormboyz kit has a ton of extra pieces (heads, arms, missle looking bits from the rocket add ons, extra guns) that could work as well.
thanks guys i might try a mix of that i like the idea of haveing a few rokets from the stormboyz set and i might add a trukk wheel or two, and yes i was going to use nob torsos
true, although I'd avoid the stormboy heads and arms, as they seem to be boy-sized as opposed to nob-sized. The rokkits and such from the stormboyz could come in handy for converting the bikes though.
I did that very thing with my bikers from the Ork MegaForce. Buy the extra torsoa online and add PK's, Big Choppas, and other goodies. know that for simple conversions, the biker arm that is attached to the handle bars is always the left. So buy right sided weapons.
I also cut up a painboy and placed him on a bike, wooden leg, arm(s), and head. Bent the orderly's legs slightly and magnetized his rear to sit on the back of the dakkagun.
Good luck with the mods.
Nob bodies, especially nob heads and arms, are important to me. It is fine for an ork to have smaller legs than normal... but BIG MUSCLY ARMS are a key nob trait... even if it means no hands on the wheel.... bars... whatever. (Or even driving with the handle of an axe while aiming a gun... that sounds orky!)
Forgeworld makes some awesome biker nobs, if you have the spare dough.
A darn nice biker boss too. He got his own special rules in Imperial Armor 8, if you fancy a biker boss that makes biker boyz and 1 unit of biker nobs troops choices (as opposed to Gutsmek who is just a mek that does most of that.)
Here is a size comparison picture. I think it really shows the big difference. ^_^

If you want something unique, and don't mind spending some coin, why not convert space marine bikes using the ork biker frame?
The ork legs fit rather well on the space marine bike. They don't sit as far forward as the marine legs but with cunning positioning of the dakka guns on the front guards you can cover it up.
