at the moment i am stuck with what to give my scorpions. do i give them a claw and ignore armour saves, or do i strike with 4 attacks (on the charge) with S8 biting blade?
I tend to prefer the Biting Blade myself. It's almost always going to be better against vehicles, and I dislike the idea of an Eldar unit striking at I1. Scorpions should generally be charging the sort of units that aren't banking on a high armor saves anyway, where striking last in exchange for negating a 5+/6+ save isn't worth it.

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.
I like the Scorpions Claw personally, especially in an all-comers list (lost o SMurfs out there). But the I1 really hurts and against particular opponents I'll almost always go with the Biting Blade. I know I probably shouldn't bring Striking Scorpions in an all-comers list, but I just love them so much... And my Striking Scorpion Exarch is usually my MVP, partially because I'm lucky I suppose(at least his dice always are), but he really tears up those tactical/assault squads.
Depends very much whether you're wanting to assault vehicles or not. If the rest of your list can handle mech and you just want these guys as infantry killers, then ignore the biting blade. It's worse than the sabres at killing meq, it's even worse at wounding t5 and t6 guys than sabres are. That said, if you're just trying to kill meq (no invul save) then the claw is your best bet. ignoring armour saves is still massive when your opponent has a 3+ save.
Against guys with invuls, or swarm type units, the sabres are the way to go, they outperform the biting blade against basicly every thing.
shit take em both, thats wat i do when i run scorpions
I like the claw simply because scorpions annihlate any kind of softer unit. No matter which one you choose you will kill anything toughness 3 low save almost instantly anyway. However the presence of a claw means that you can still go toe-to-toe with close combat MEQ's and independent characters where normally you would be obliterated.
Whilst its all fine and dandy to say they should only be charging softer targets anyway, MEQ armies tend to have zero soft targets for you to choose.
Fundamentally you're sacrificing about 5% of your horde killing power to double or even triple your MEQ killing power, whilst still keeping the squad a threat if most of your guys die.

If anyone wants any kind of help writing fluff for any kind of GW army just ask.
i have worked out that the Biting blade allows 4 S8 attacks (on the charge) which means 4 dead marines in 1 turn! not bad eh?
