Anyone got any good tactics against da Ork Boyz? Their CC is second best in the 40K universe. Do we hold the same tactics of charging at them or are their some new tactics against the WAAAGH!!!?
Need I say... Biovores with Poison mines?
The basic tenets of Tyranid tactics still work, just keep the TMCs and Zoans away from any Choppa-wielders!
Spinegaunts are a good choice as well, given that the Orks have a bad save, and any Orks dead by shooting won't be fighting in CC... Of course, take note of the approximate range: You don't want to be unable to charge due to the Ork removing shooting casualties from charge range.

Their warboss isn't as strong as a hive tyrant, so give it wings and dual scything talons and implant attack and go toe-to-toe against it.

My Uncle plays Orks. I woop his butt fairly regularly.
Poison Mines are great! Homagaunts can do well in large broods. Don't bother with 'stealers, though. No CC Carni's either. Gargoyles rock against orks.
I like giving my HT a VC to pop those open topped vehicles. That always irks him.

Agaisnt orks Id say it will be numbers for numbers as TMCS are pretty pathetic but Leaping Warriors with 2x scythe Oh yeah . Even if they pass their silly power of the waagh guess what? You are still going first . Raveners and middle creatures are the only time id suggest using them is agaisnt orks as theri save isnt high enough to be negated and they can dish out an assload of attacks.
A boyz mob usually has a Nob. When they charge and get WAAAGH that Nob is at Init:6. That's faster than a Hive Tyrant and Warriors. A Warboss getting WAAAAGH Power has init:8. 8!!! The only thing faster than that in a Tyranid army is a Bioplasma attack from an init:5 Creature.
Swarms of boyz caneasily take down a TMC so watch out for them.
BIOVORES! Drop poison mines on them.

use hormagaunts by the numbers, against orks the barbed strangler is a good weapon as their saves are pretty crap
definetly a full brood of biovores with frag and poison spore mines, the poison are against their vehicles which are mostly open-topped.
the advantage though is that orks have no powerweapons, the only weapon that ignores your armoursave are powerklaws but they strike last
isnt it ture that orks have alot of multi wound models? and if so wouldnt Implant attacks be very usefull? like IA guants

i take them out with hormies , you get loads of dice and if you have flesh hooks don't you fight 1st ? :huh:
