I was just thinking about the rumors of DE getting Harlequins "As codex Eldar"
I wonder if this means they will be identical to ours or adjusted a little bit to 5th ed in some way? While them being identical would mean their harlies would be no better than ours, it also means when we get our 5th ed codex our harlies will still be the same and they are already fairly obselete. If DE harlies are adjusted in some way, at least ours can get better in the future.
What are your thoughts?
I'm not sure but I would love it if the Harlequins were inproved in someway. Even an improved invunerable save or the possibility of being able to upgrade to power weapons would be nice but I'm not holding my breath on that. I am looking forward to seeing what the new codex will bring...when it eventually comes along.
From what I can tell on Warseer they are identical to the current Codex Eldar entry. Which is a bit sad but they probably didn't want the regular Eldar players to cry that DE got better Harleys. On the other hand no one has posted the exact stats/points costs/equipment anywhere so there might be small differences that people just missed.
my main problem with harlies is that they try to fill the middle role between, banshees and scorpions which fails horribly because both those squads are already really good at what they do. harlies truly need a full face lift, but i'm not too sure how
i hear that they will be the same but will have the option of taking a venom dedicated transport for them.
Had a flick thru the codex last night, they're exactly the same. same cost, same equipment, same abilities. A shame really.
I think they won't be as good as eldar harlequins because they can't be boosted by a farseer. This means no doom, fortune or guide to support them!
on the upside they do get use of fast skimmer assault vehicles..
