Just have a quick burna question:
Burna boys in a Battlewagon: If I have a 15 man squad of Burnas in a wagon, since it's opened topped does that mean they can ALL shoot from it? Because 15 templates is just...wow.
Signature? What, do I sign my name here or something?
Yes it does. Burnawagons are incredible and underrated in my opinion. However, 15 burnas seems like overkill, and you'll be easily sinking 300 points into such a unit. The current rules are kind to multiple flame template units, and the burna-wagon is no exception. Additionally, they can hop out of the trukk and use their burnas as powerweapons when needed (so long as they didn't fire that turn). I'd cut down on the number of burnas but otherwise yes this setup rocks.
I also recommend skorcha buggies. Very underused but quite powerful for their points.
Burnawagons rock!, indeed it is a favoured tactic of mine but remember to jump out at one point- sitting in a battlewagon is asking for trouble and make sure when you do finally jump out there is ample opportunity to toast several units at once (this tends to happen when people are objective camping with multiple units close together) there is something comic of making a guard player look horrified when you start counting wounds from flamers and the total ends up being more than what he could shoot back at you.
ok i do use a unit of 14 (with 3 meks) but recently they have been under performing as i move the wagon into the right positions but i keep forgetting to shoot with them etc. just be agressive with them and they should cause hell and as a last note if you have rock hard units like nobz etc then that burnawagon tends to be ignored as your opponent is too busy in trying to kill your other units...
I'm not a fan of burnas in a battlewagon. It's too expensive, takes up both an elite and heavy support slot, and the unit can't take a powerklaw or bosspole without a character attached.
Instead, I'd much rather use either meganobz with combi-skorchas (more useful in close combat, and can take a dedicated transport), or a unit of 3 warbuggies with skorchas (cheap and effective).
If I am going to use burnas, then I either want a character with a bosspole attached, or I want their unit to be small and inside a looted wagon.
"Any job worth doing, is worth doing with a powerklaw."
I love burnas, my favourite tactic is to put them in a battlewagon, move up to the enemy objective, all the while burning there units and then when I get there I then Burn them up one turn and the next turn I assualt them. In the past 3 games I have used this tactic it has worked tremendously well, even when they tried a counter attack I burnt them to ashes before they got to charge me.
