Hi I was wondering if there are still any rules for feral orks I know there used to be. I'm asking because my army fluff would probably fit in better with feral ork rules then the normal ones, if not I'll just have to count-as.
They had some old crappy rules. The generally sucked. Feral ork fluff from the rules was actually kind of wierd- the orks were weaker because they hadn't yet clashed with other tribes and weeded out the weak, but they were better at shooting because they hunted a lot. There are some neat units in it, like cyboars, madboyz, and herdas, but the rules are outdated and not good. You'd probably have to use the previous version of Codex Orks for it to make sense. No way you could use at a tournament or with many players.
I'd recommend proxying feral models into the normal rules. Boars are warbikers, catapults are lobbas, etc. If you want squiggoths, there are rules in the Imperial Armor expansion I believe, as well as the Apocalypse book.
If you want I can email you the rules in PDF but be warned that they're pretty lame.
Of course the new ork book codex-crept right past them and then some - just comparing current ork boyz to the old elite feral brutes for instance.
AT is correct, they were fine back in the day but are now underpowered. I also recommend that you delve into the fantasy orc models. They're interchangable with the 40k bits and can add some variety to your models.
