Welcome to Librarium Online!
I'm talking about raider spam. Has anyone tried running an army with every unit in a raider? Basically my plan for an army is something along these lines:
archon + incubi in a raider
2x wyches in a raider
2x warriors in a raider
(+ any reavers or any other units I may need)
I used to run a raider spam + WWP army with the old codex. But then again that was when haemonculi could take reavers and a WWP, and when raiders could come out of a WWP.
The only problem I see with raider spam in the new 'dex is seeing 1-2 skimmers being shot out of the sky unless you get the first turn. Keeping them in reserve would fix the problem, but then you run the risk of having them come onto the board piecemeal. Being a former chaos daemons player, I know the horrors of having bad reserve rolls.

I still think this is viable.
One thing though. We could never give a wwp to a heamonculus, archon or dracon on a reaver;-)
First, I hate to break it to you, but if you were deploying WWP's from a RJB you were cheating: "Characters riding a Reaver jetbike... may not use a webway portal or Crucible of Malediction." The Reaver entry in the errata is a bit different from the book, but it still kept the prohibition on taking a WWP.
As far as mech-spam, it was effective in the last codex and by and large things have only gotten better. You're spot on though, getting shot up too badly in the 1st turn is the biggest concern. You can combat this somewhat by deploying smartly behind cover, and also the flicker field provides at least some protection against long-range shooting (for no more than the cost of an old Raider w/ Night Shield). You can also increase your chances of getting 1st turn by including Baron Sathonyx or Vect in your army.
Also, it seems to me that you could still effectively include a WWp in a mech army as well, as long as you drop it on turn 1 and use units with a long effective-range like Beastmasters, Hellions, or a Cronos with spirit vortex.
This is my take on an all mounted army. http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...-1750-pts.html
my biggest threats is in my smallest transports, the venoms. then I just send forward my horde of warriors and wyches.
