hey guys i am having a hard time on choosing my hq. i like the tyrant but the swarmlord is good to. which do you think is better
Depends entirely on your list. Neither is better nor worse than the other. Take the one that works with your army list and not the other one.
ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.

Normal Tyrants can be just as good. But there are many options for them. You can create an uber-monster with wings and have it with twinlinked devourers or scything talons, bonesword and lashwhip plus adrenal glands and implant attack to wreak havoc in assault. Or you can have a cheap one with no real upgrades and give it something like Hive commander to aid the res of your swarm while keeping it's points low so the rest of your swarm can reach a bigger size.
You should also think about if you will or will not use Tyrant Guard. They can have a big effect on what your Swarmlord or Hive Tyrant does, they also cost a fair amount of points.
Tyrant is more all-purpose and can be figured for multiple roles. The Swarmlord is expensive and really needs the army to be built around him. While I do use the swarmlord on occassions, it is usually at 2000pts or above. Mainly I use a hive tyrant with dual twin-linked brainleech devourers and at least 1 tyrant guard. I normally get a lot more mileage out of him.
