    Ordnance1 weapon which one ? ?

    Considering a ordnance weapon

    Looted wagon + boom gun

    or

    battle wagon + Killkannon

    or

    Big Mek + shock attack gun

    thinking along the lines of big mek but just wondering about the firing table and the chance of success is going to be low ... but prob also the most fun ! any feedback please

    IMO:
    1st good but always have a chance of loosing ability to use
    2nd good and still can carry some units
    3rd pure fun

    IMO the shokk attack gun is a very different animal since you never know what it's going to do. It should comedown to the rest of your list. If your infantry heavy, get a Shokk and possibly another Big Mek with Force Field. If you have a few trukks and wagons, get one of the others (Probably a boomgun or 2) since a single ordnance gun will draw all the AT fire if it's the only viable target.

    Yeah, the battlewagon's killkannon just doesn't have the range to let it hang back and lay down fire. It has to approach the enemy, and it's hard to do that while keeping them out of your side flanks, narrow as the battlewagon model is. And if you have a battlewagon that close to the enemy, save the killkannon, use the deffrolla and shootas, just drive straight in!

    SAG's random, random, random. A lucky roll can make your day. An unlucky one can lose you the game. Most ordnance weapons have a maximum scatter of 2d6-BS; an unfortunate strength roll scatters your SAG right onto the nearest unit, probably your own. Or yoinks the Mek into melee with something that was dangerous enough to merit shooting with a SAG. On the other hand, you can make the SAG a lot 'arder than a looted wagon simply by burying it in a unit of grots, at 3 points an extra wound...

    SAG's also AP2, unlike just about everything else in the Ork army. You can't rely on it to bring down anything, but it can do a number on heavy infantry, even without the double six.

    The real question is, are any of them better than grots! (Er, that is, grots with kannons.) The kannons aren't quite as good at anti-armor because they're not ordnance weapons, but at the same time, you can get three shots in a turn out of a fairly cheap unit, and they won't scatter off target. Multiple template blasts are pretty nice too, even if they're not as killy as the boomgun or killkannon. And you can't pop a grot crew with a lascannon - you either need templates, blasts, or lots of dakka, and that's templates, blasts, or lots of dakka that aren't landing on your rushing horde of boyz.

    tar for the help every1

    as i only play friendly games atm gonna proxy some Looted wagons and pos a big mek ( over different games) and see how it all goes.

    do see your point about the grots as get get a unit of 3 kannons for 90 points! guess it all comes down to the dice at the end of it ....

    The other major disadvantage of the kill kannon is it's str 7. The str 8 boom gun lets you insta kill anything with T4 (nid warriors with 3W anyone?).
