Welcome to Librarium Online!
So, in my 1500 point game, I decided to replace my two TLFB suits with 2 TL flamer suits for more anti-horde goodness, and I got stuck at a crossroad; when you take twin-flamers, what else do you take? Missile pod? some support system? any help would be appreciated
Here's a couple options with comments.
MP: for long range support before getting into template range. (recommended) 43/model
FB: if you want a semi tank hunter. (not recommended) 43/model
BC: more wounds before getting into template range. (less range but cheaper than MP) 39/model
BSF: if you want to conserve points. 34/model
DC+GD: extra fire power for more anti-horde goodness. (ok option) 41-51/model
DC+SD: extra Defense, so to survive enemy pelting before template range. (ok option) 46-61/model

Support you right to play video games, its for the greater good...
kk, thank you very much
I'd go with a pair of gun drones per model...same range as the burst cannon, but when you get in range of the twinned flamer, you still get to shoot the drones. Actually, I'd go with a single flamer, multitracker, and burst cannon, but that's not one of the options, is it?
Hmmm...it's a lot more interesting to think about what not to take:
Night vision (it's mentioned above)
4++ invulnerable save or shield drones (uh, staying in cover is cheaper?)
fusion blaster (yeah, that's been said)

I love the torch squad, the MP allow a couple shots in before coming into the flamer range. always great to have a couple of extra shots against lightly armoured vehicles or meks,
only drawback with doing this is that you reduce the Toughness of the squad to that of the Drones, as they will be in the majority. Makes wounding easier, even though you have more "ablative bodies" available.Originally Posted by Marnepup

I agree, never have enough gun drones in a unit so as to drop the majority toughness. They are there to take the odd long range shot that will inevitably hit them.

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.
